The Hollow Dream
A keeper at a tall window over a moonlit sea, in a lobby of brass pipes and filing cabinets

A narrative game

Bureau of the Hollow · Now hiring for the night shift

The dead leave things behind. Someone has to file them.

A narrative game you play in the browser, a few minutes at a time. You work the night shift at an afterlife office inside a shared dream: you read what the dead left behind, talk with them, and decide what happens next. The story moves on whether you are there or not.

Free to play. Runs in the browser. English, Português, Español.

What a night is like

A quiet office at three in the morning, and a sea where the floor should be

You clock in. A capsule drops from the pneumatic tube. Something has arrived: an object, a dreamer's file, a ship on the horizon. You read it, you talk to whoever it belongs to, and you decide what happens next. Then you wait, because the Hollow keeps its own time, and things take as long as they take.

Every few hours
the world changes. Tides, weather in the dream, new arrivals.
Every morning
the Gazette prints what happened, including what you did.
In real time
expeditions, crossings and inquiries run while you are away.
Shared
what you chart, pass or dispatch reaches other keepers' desks.
